Sometimes I ask myself have a I crept too far down into the underground film abyss. Then I realize I’m not the only one who checks out this stuff and I feel a little better. There is a select audience for every taste in film. Whether it borders on good taste is another topic altogether. Consenting adults following legal perimeters is the bottom line here. There is a fascination with how deep and dark you can go into the world of cinema and sometimes the boundaries can be limitless.
Sander Cage and his company Sado Messiah Productions out of Germany are making unique features melding some different genres. In the case of Rape Love we get a mixture of graphic hardcore sexual content and violence melded together to give us snuff style torture scenarios with an erotic edge. I reviewed one of Cage’s other features My Kind Of Hatred which was similar in nature but with a bit of a different twist.
Cage stars in all his own material which are usually low budget affairs with a couple of actors involved. In the case with Rape Love Cage uses some cool industrial music to fill the soundtrack which seems to get more intense as the scenes follow suit. The movie contains no dialogue and it uses eerie and dark film techniques to add a very bleak and foreboding vibe to the whole thing. This 30 minute short takes place at night when evil comes out to play and is a visual display of depravity and sexual debauchery.
The plot has Cage drinking in a bar when he is approached by a guy who leaves him a note on the bar table. The note serves as an invitation for him to meet someone in a location for some no limits fun. Cage takes the note and proceeds to find the location disclosed. It leads him to a building with a long dark hallway and finally to a room where a woman has been bound, gagged and tied to a chair.
From here on in Cage proceeds to administer rough sexual techniques on the submissive woman such as gagging her with his fingers and member by administering some brutal throat abuse. He moves on to exploring her anal cavity orally, with fingers and finally penetration. We get some knife play by making some incisions on her skin and something special for the climax. Things go on and get more extreme as the movie plays on. The ending is unexpected as well and a nice touch.
