My Master Satan: 3 Tales of Drug Fueled Violence is the debut feature length anthology for filmmaker Dakota Bailey. Dakota doesn’t consider himself neither a director or actor. He and his like minded friends who also co-star in My Master Satan: 3 Tales of Drug Fueled Violence just want to make the kind of films they would want to watch. Prior to this anthology Dakota and the gang have made three short films in the span of 2015. Scumbags: A Day in the Life of a Drug Dealer (2015), Satan’s Coming for You (2015) and My Master Satan (2015).

Extreme Horror Cinema is about discovering new cinematic experiences from the underground along with everything else we cover here. So naturally when Dakota approached us on our Face Book page about reviewing his feature debut My Master Satan: 3 Tales of Drug Fueled Violence I jumped at the chance and stated I would love to!

Satan starts the ball rolling…

“Here are three stories of people that are going to burn in hell for sure”

Story intertwined with one common denominator….Alister. Dog and cat killing Alister. Hell, it isn’t just animals of the four legged variety that have to be on their guard when he comes calling!

My Master Satan: 3 Tales of Drug Fueled Violence starts off with Bubba and the connection to Alister begins.

Bubba needs a hand. To keep his wife’s lover from being near her. Alister is told to get the flamethrower ready. He does, be first grabbing a dog. Placing it in a garbage bag he slams it into the concrete before testing out said flamethrower. This sets up the coldness and callousness for life he has.

Bubba arrives and they go to see the wife. Arriving at the cemetery they dig up her year old corpse and take it away.

Afterwards they drop acid and see Satan within themselves.

Thus sets of the scenarios within My Master Satan: 3 Tales of Drug Fueled Violence. Of the different characters within and their relationship with the common denominator with Alister. Drugs are taken, people are killed in a variety of ways including being shot, smothered, strangled and chopped up with a chainsaw. We also get a hint at necrophilia with Bubba’s wife and undue attention to a sex dole.

My Master Satan: 3 Tales of Drug Fueled Violence is not a gory film for the most part. Some of the shots pan away to a blood spray, jerky death seizure legs or what have you. From my perspective though I could understand this. Dakota and the gang are starting out and doing what they can.

Dakota and his actors and crew are all friends. This pays dividends for the whole filmic experience. Communications between the different characters doesn’t feel stilted or whatever. It just feels like a gang of guys who know each other intertwining in their deviate and violent social activities. Just a group of guys shit talking, drinking, partaking in drugs and doing other things guys do when they get together.

In the opening there is a warning…

Already mentioned this to Dakota but I felt unless the viewer was a complete mongoloid this was unnecessary. Well for me anyways! 80% of My Master Satan: 3 Tales of Drug Fueled Violence was shot on video so obviously SOV. Degradation was then applied to the footage to give it this gnarly feel. Sometimes you could experience where the added none-video format was applied but it wasn’t distracting to the overall SOV grindy vibe Dakota was going for.

While on about the look I will bring up Satan. Not in a ritual but in how he appears in the film obviously! A lot can be stated for creativity and taking something minor, fuck with the colour editing, the distortion to create something awesome. Just sometimes the most basic things is the most perfect and this is how I feel about My Master Satan: 3 Tales of Drug Fueled Violence! Hell, I could state this about the while film altogether in fact! Making do with what you got and bringing something worthwhile to the screen!

What kind of music would you expect to find in a film called My Master Satan: 3 Tales of Drug Fueled Violence by a group of guys making a film they would want to see? Blackened Deathmetal from Florida band Luciferian Insectus. Music went well with the characters we meet up within the storyline. But it wasn’t to overkill either.

Negatives. Because people want to read the dark side of films. But fuck no need to bash the fuck out of films for shits and giggles. Be constructive! Unintentional vent over.

Ok, Bubba digs up his wife who has been rotting away for a year or so in the grave. Resurrected she is know a skeleton after the maggots, worms and other denizens of the earth have fed on her. She in the technical term is a lab skeleton, which is understandable considering My Master Satan: 3 Tales of Drug Fueled Violence is a low budget affair. At first I was like hey then the while scenario got going and I was pretty cool about it. Had a kind of serene feel about it all. A kind of insanity one would expect with a guy dancing with his dead wife. But what I would have done was cover the skeleton with something to give it the look of rotten skin and what have you.

Gore hounds might go fuck the kills are hidden when it came for opportunities of gore insanity. Chainsaw to body with entrails flying across the room. Limbs being hacked off. Corpse fucking. But then for a start this doesn’t detract from the overall experience and as already mentioned Dakota and co. were working on a limited budget so did what they could.

My Master Satan: 3 Tales of Drug Fueled Violence is the debut feature from a guy who doesn’t consider himself either a director or actor. He is a guy who just loves these films and got together his friends to create something they would want to see. An SOV experience with some great, dark and nasty characters. Vibe that wasn’t pretentious and that is lacking from films with the budget’s large studios pour into their attempts to cashing the grindhouse market. My internet sucked big time these past two week since Dakota Bailey shared the link with me. Upon having my experience the frustrations and angst was worth it, as My Master Satan: 3 Tales of Drug Fueled Violence is more than worthy of any fan of Underground film.
