Memories become fragmented with reality. Dead appear to taunt him. Insanity is on the streets. All Earl wants to do is find his girl… In Furs (2016) Extreme Horror Cinema Christopher Bouchie w. Evan Makrogiannis Christopher Bouchie w. Evan Makrogiannis …In Furs first hit the eyes of those of us who visit the underground back in July 2015. …In Furs filmmaker Christopher Bouchie teamed up with Evan Makrogiannis to run an indiegogo campaign to assist fund both their short films. At the time Christoper’s was then known as Lovesick and Evan’s was The Deterioration Blues. Both had an awesome promise and thus proved very popular with UG fans. On top of both co-running this venture in fundraising Evan also is a Producer and the Special Effects technician for what is now known as …In Furs. …In Furs got its birth from Venus In Furs, novella by the Austrian author Leopold von Sacher-Masoch from 1870. Venus in Furs deals in the themes of female dominance and sadomasochism. Vito Trigo is Earl. A man whose mind is dominated by two women in his life. One is Molly, his one true love and the woman he goes searching for. His other is Lydia, from watching the scenarios became the woman to me who first got him hooked on heroin. After his first dose he panics and calls his friend Victor up. When he arrives he can see what is happening. Plus knowing what is happening from the news he tries to get Earl to quite. But stupidly he also discloses he has one last baggy for another customer. Thus begins the trail of death and insanity. Earl takes his last hit and goes off the deep end. Vito is amazing! From my personal experience first from his portrayal of nastiness with his character of Wayne in Jason Koch’s Pig Pen. Now here in …In Furs. Perfectly cast as the addict spiralling into deeper madness and violence. He explodes and that is something that cannot be faked convincingly. Just fucking mad! Sometimes it works but sometimes not as is the case on the street when he tries to shove past Evan Makrogiannis’ character. But it’s more. He displays desperation and love as well.A scene of normal times before everything went to hell demonstrates this. Scene from near the beginning brought to mind a favourite of mine, Jim VanBebber’s Deadbeat At Dawn. Scene in question being Goose’s father’s losing it. Earl and the flower seller losing it with each other. Was perfect! Matt Desiderio is Victor. Almost a comedy element dwells with his character. Victor is that guy who is just a joker. Both in life and death. After his incidental death he returns to pester Earl. Rachel Rose Gilmour is Earl’s love interest Molly. Someone from his past he is convinced has been stolen from him. She is clean cut to the polar opposite to the other woman in Earl’s life. Sarah Schoofs is Lydia, far from clean cut and a junky. More fuck buddies and someone to share a needle with then a love interest. From viewing the whole short and looking back an incident occurred that sent Earl to Lydia and heroin addiction. Earl hates her for it as quite possible it is why Molly is no longer there and his brain cannot handle it. Naturally the bad batch send him over the edge and brings the story into fruition. …In Furs (2016) Extreme Horror CinemaAlong with these amazing actors there are a host of well known faces with the Underground scene as well. As mentioned Evan Makrogiannis but also Liam, his son. Liam also does a great job with the sound as well. Liam is also a filmmaker himself and one I backed in a big way for his upcoming Night of the Magician. Keep an eye out has it promises to be something very worthy for horror fans! Evan Makrogiannis regular Edgar Moye plays a pivotal role here. John Miller of Icon Films / The Sleaze Box with his two regular favourites Bob Glazier and Joe Mackowski show up on the news as well. …In Furs (2016) Extreme Horror Cinema…In Furs is a story of a man who goes off on the deep end. In desperate times he snaps and explodes into violence. Christopher Bouchie does not shy away in its depiction! From simpler stuff to such things as disembowlment with its intestines things become bloody affairs. This is where Evan Makrogiannis comes in as Special Effects technician. His blood and intestines look amazing as does the cuts and abrasions that occur. There is more but I don’t want to spoil THAT as it looks fucking amazing. Effect in question is created by Jeffrey Husselman, one of the best I have seen. To know what I am getting on about go check out …In Furs when you get the chance! Scott Appleby did an awesome job of composing the soundtrack for …In Furs. It’s perfect for this ride into insanity and explosive violence! Christopher Bouchie creates this story of mental fragmentation…In Furs.
