American Guinea Pig: Bouquet of Guts and Gore is bloody awesome as fuck…end of review! If life was only so easy!
Whispers appeared and soon became a crescendo across the underground!
American Guinea Pig! Re-birth of the notorious series from 1980s Japan.
Founder and owner of Unearthed Films, Stephen Biro, debut as filmmaker. Stephen wanted to make a love letter to ultra horehounds the world over.
Some guys from the underground come along with the ride into this destination of sick gory perversity!
James VanBebber is Director of Photography along with playing a starring role as The Editor. Marcus Koch and his team of Melanie Dean and Chris Polidora at Oddtopsy bring on the sick as fuck practical effects. Oddtopsy is produced alongside Unearthed Films.
Was I excited about this news, fucking oaf I was! With all of this talent behind the promise of a return to some pretty darned sick cinematic experiences who wouldn’t be amongst the fans of gore and sickness out there!?!
Along came the Indiegogo campaign and that proved people wanted the AGP series to happen. Bouquet of Guts and Gore made enough money to both recoup its budget along with fund the next film in the series, Bloodshock!
Then the wait for the Christmas…Halloween…Birthday…hell, any day that brings on awesome prezzies and stuff…that is the sound of the postman bringing in my copy.
Alas after an exciting, much anticipated wait the time finally arrived to experience if Bouquet of Guts and Gore lives up to the promise.
Bring on the…
GORE SICKNESS INSANITY FILTH DEPRAVITY
Amy and Erika return to their vehicle to find a surprise waiting! Soon gassed and tossed to the side they are driven to their doom!
Farther drugged with their masked captor’s special sauce and fed a large dose of LSD they are laid out on twin tables. Implements lay on a table close by ready to be used for nefarious, diabolic intentions.
Soon these two women become Bouquets of Guts and Gore for the perverse pleasures of viewers wrapped in the drape of anonymity
YES!
Bouquet of Guts and Gore lives up to its promise of gore, sickness, insanity, filth and depravity in buckets full!
What I got was this feel of the next step from Last House on Dead End Street but the feel of actual snuff footage! Like a step farther along the storyline by crazed fans of these films that decide to take it too far! It is more than this but I don’t want to give away the storyline!
Obviously the gore effects would be quite simply awesome and spot on for this event in fucked up homicide by Marcus Koch and his crew from Oddtopsy. Limbs sawn away, jaws smashed and cut off, internal organs eviscerated and skin peeled away; there is a charnel house of gore to be experienced!
Loved the atmosphere provided by the camera work and the look that Stephen Biro and James VanBebber went for! It has this wonderful, beautiful atmosphere that brought to mind before mentioned LHoDES and other amazing grindhouse films. All without feeling fake or forced! Our sick-fuck camera operators of the storyline use different cameras and this is displayed with the look of the snuff footage…because snuff footage it is!
Somebody better not send this to Charlie Sheen!
But hell, THAT would make for some awesome marketing!
Stephen went for a small crew going into his debut. For me this played through to the events onscreen to give it more punch! Bouquet of Guts and Gore had a feel of peering into a dark, perverse underground scene of human slaughter.
As for the ending, it WILL upset some! Loved how it plays through the credits as well!
American Guinea Pig: Bouquet of Guts and Gore would be an insane starting point for any beginning filmmaker. Stephen Biro was very lucky to be in a position to be able to get the likes of James VanBebber and Marcus Koch on board to create this experience in gory perversity. It was an extremely smart move and I am more than glad he did. Both brought along a flavour that made this a very special event for me, and I am sure, for other fans of horror gore as well.
Guinea Pig lives on the other side of the Pacific now! I truly look forwards to Bloodshock along with other future adventures in gory cinema! Thanks Stephen and co for an awesome experience!
